A Message from the PMI-Central Iowa President regarding COVID-19 Decisions (03-15-20)

PMI-Central Iowa Members,

I wanted to personally reach out to you given the concerns over the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and inform you of the immediate effects it has on our organization and our action plan moving forward.

Our first priority is to protect the health and wellbeing of our members; the PMI-Central Iowa and PMI Global staff are paying close attention to new developments with COVID-19. They are monitoring local, national and international public health departments and agencies for the latest updates and guidance.

After careful consideration, we have determined it now becomes necessary for us to make additional decisions to further safeguard our community.  At this time, we are cancelling the March 19^th Chapter Meeting.  Anyone who has already paid their registration fee will receive a refund.

In addition, the following action items are being taken by PMI-Central Iowa and PMI Global moving forward:

• Effective March 12, 2020, PMI Global has required all employees work remotely for 30 days
• The PMI Region 2 Conference planned for April 2020 in Milwaukee has been suspended
• Chapter Presidents in our Region are meeting with our Global Liaison on March 16, 2020 to discuss how other Chapters are addressing COVID-19
• The PMI-Central Iowa Board is conducting its regular, monthly meeting on March 17, 2020 virtually.  During this meeting, we will be discussing our upcoming events

We will continue to heed the advice of public health experts and provide regular updates to our members. Please contact me directly with any questions or concerns. We are grateful for the ongoing support of our members and appreciate your patience.
