AI Challenge: Battle of the Bots – Coming Soon from PMI Central Iowa Chapter

Monthly Chapter Meeting

Join us for 'Battle of the AI: Project Management Workshop', a hands-on workshop designed to help project professionals harness the power of AI through real-time demonstrations and collaborative learning. This session will feature four leading AI platforms: PMI Affinity, Grok, Perplexity, and ChatGPT. Each board member panelist will respond to the same prompts during three challenge rounds to demonstrate how each AI tool handles creating three standard project documents.

Register today here.

Using a shared fictional case study, each AI tool will be tested for accuracy, creativity, structure, and value. Attendees will have a front-row seat to see how prompt construction, platform behavior, and output clarity varies between tools. By standardizing prompts across platforms, participants will be able to make direct comparisons and gain practical insights for their own work.

A Brief History of AI
While AI has made headlines in recent years, its roots trace back to the 1950s, when early computer scientists envisioned machines capable of simulating human intelligence. But only in the last decade—thanks to breakthroughs in machine learning, data access, and computing power—has AI begun to influence everyday project work. Now, platforms like PMI Affinity and ChatGPT can support project managers in analyzing risks, preparing documentation, and even advising on stakeholder strategy.

Why AI Literacy Matters More Than Ever
As powerful as AI is, it’s only as effective as the person prompting it. Poor inputs can yield flawed outputs. That’s why AI literacy is emerging as a must-have skill for project leaders. Knowing how to craft precise prompts, interpret results critically, and apply outputs ethically ensures these tools elevate—not undermine—project success.

This event is designed to help you:

  • Learn how different AI tools respond to the same set of prompts
  • Develop a prompt playbook you can apply to your own projects
  • Gain confidence in using AI for projec areas such as: planning, risk, and scope management

Engagement and Takeaways
Audience members—whether attending live or virtually—will vote using Mentimeter at key points throughout the event. These interactive moments will help highlight trends and crowd perspectives on which tools and responses resonated most.

At the conclusion of the event, a feedback survey will be distributed to gather input on your experience and help shape future programming. Additionally, attendees will receive a post-event handout that includes a link to the complete ChatGPT prompt log used during the demonstration, an AI tool comparison, and prompt examples to use in your everyday life.

Whether you’re curious about AI or already exploring tools in your daily work, this event will sharpen your skills, expand your awareness, and give you actionable ideas to take back to your team.

We look forward to seeing you there for this one-of-a-kind event from PMI Central Iowa Chapter!
