Join PMI Central Iowa this October 28th for an engaging session with Neil Deutsch, a veteran program manager in the financial services industry, as he shares stories from his volunteer experiences and the unexpected lessons they’ve taught him about leadership, adaptability, and teamwork. Through these real-world examples, we’ll explore how skills gained outside of work can strengthen your project management toolkit, from emotional intelligence and leading without formal authority, to navigating complex stakeholder dynamics. This session aligns directly with the PMI Talent Triangle, highlighting how continuous learning and leadership growth can happen in surprising places, and how you can apply these lessons to your own career.

Speaker Bio: Neil has over thirty years of business analysis and project / program management experience ranging from complex technical projects to large scale cultural transformations in a variety of industries. He brings with him a blend of operational understanding and software lifecycle development skills in both Agile and traditional environments. He is an effective facilitator and presenter with extensive experience in process analysis and statistical process control. His experience has blended technology and continuous process improvement with team-building, organizational change management.
This mix of skills and perspective allows him to quickly identify client and end-user needs and craft effective solutions. His strong interpersonal skills and written and oral communication abilities make him particularly adept at leading solution definitions and guiding teams through successful implementations for the benefit of all involved.
